Virscient Expands Audio SoC Development capability with Sony LDAC Integration

Virscient is now able to integrate Sony’s LDAC audio codec onto Qualcomm’s Bluetooth® Audio chips, following a new partnership with Sony. This collaboration highlights Virscient’s growing expertise in high-fidelity wireless audio solutions, offering manufacturers a direct path to superior sound quality on the latest Qualcomm platforms.

As the first design consultancy with the capability to port LDAC onto Qualcomm chips (including the QCC5171 and other selected platforms) Virscient is uniquely positioned to help manufacturers of over-ear headphones and true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds combine Qualcomm’s proven Bluetooth technology with LDAC’s high-resolution audio performance.

Sony has licensed Virscient to develop the system-on-chip (SoC) integration for LDAC on selected Qualcomm platforms. While audio manufacturers must still license LDAC directly from Sony, Virscient provides the critical expertise to ensure seamless implementation, accelerating time to market for premium audio products
